Education
AS recognizes two specific goals of the educational program of the faculty in general and of its own in particular:
- the mastering of (basic) knowledge on a wide variety of elements of aerospace engineering;
- the application of this knowledge in specific projects, which may range from relatively simple introductions to realistic aerospace problems, to full-scale scientific research projects.
AS contributes with a variety of activities to the education of the B.Sc. and M.Sc. students: lectures on topics that belong to the knowledge base of AS (which may be full lectures or contributions to lectures), and the AS participation in student projects. The latter are meant to illustrate and above all apply and further the knowledge and understanding of the aerospace students. Such projects may be oriented towards a broad range of astronautics disciplines (e.g. the design projects in the second and third study year of the curriculum), or may be pointed at problems or issues which are very specific for the disciplinary area of AS; the latter will be found in the fifth year graduation assignments, typically.
- First year (1st year B.Sc.)
- Second year (2nd year B.Sc.)
- Third year (3rd year B.Sc.)
- Fourth year (1st year M.Sc.)
- Fifth year: thesis year (2nd year M.Sc.).
