Our philosophy of "pro-active or forward integration of design parameters" is the leading theme for our research. We also encourage support from other disciplinary groups, which have substantial specific knowledge to offer necessary for realising of our objectives.

| Processing of materials has an importance from the microscopic-level to the structural-level. We develop novel processing techniques and investigate the fundamental aspects of existing or novel processes. |
| Material constraints can limit the design and manufacture of composite components. We are attempting to overcome these limits through the development of new materials and proper characterisation of material behavior.
